I am a first-year PhD student with interests in astronomy, computer programming, and experimental physics. I enjoy seeing places and taking beautiful pictures.

I’m interested in the question: “Where do the elements in our periodic table come from?”. As a PhD student at DAWN I study the spectra of explosions when two neutron stars merge, known as kilonovae. From their spectra, I try to identify which heavy elements were synthesized in these events. I have been involved in this problem from many facets. As a master’s student I studied the atoms and nuclei of heavy elements in the laboratory.
What do I like apart from science? Good question! My Personal Info page has some clues.
